This PI was superseded to update the Recommendations section. Please discard PIT5364A.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
The SES lamp may be on with both DTC P151E and P069E stored.
Important: This concern does NOT involve the DTC P059F. Do NOT replace parts for DTC P059F as this DTC is often an indicator of obstruction in the shutter such as road debris, ice, or snow.
There is a new jumper harness released to service to address this condition on vehicles built prior to 1/15/2015. For vehicles built after that date, perform published diagnostics.
This jumper will be installed between the connector halves of X105 which is attached to the tie bar behind the left side of the fascia. The picture (1) below indicates its position but the fascia does not need to be removed for this procedure.
To install this jumper, raise and support the vehicle on the hoist and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right.
Reach through the opening to the front lower left corner of the cooling module just above the fog lamp pocket to locate X105. Unclip it from the tie bar.
Separate the connector halves, install jumper harness PN 23390136 between them, and ensure they snap together.
Use tie straps to secure the jumper harness to the tie bar.
Reinstall the wheel liner and lower the vehicle.
Perform the aero shutter function test to verify.
