Condition
  • Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL) failure. No safety risk.
  • Vehicle will not start when failure is active.
  • Service ESCL message appears in the IPC with DTC B101E and B2910 set.
Correction Re-program the ESCL module (K60 Steering Column Lock Module) with the updated calibration files via SPS re-programming.

Condition Front portion of the propeller shaft slips out of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) and drags on the roadway. The driver may hear a dragging noise from beneath the vehicle, but there will be no driver information center/cluster warning messages.
Correction Inspect propeller shaft by performing a push-pull-push test.

Condition All 2017-2019 model year Buick Regal vehicles, equipped with AWD (RPO F46), may have a condition in which the front portion of the propeller shaft slips out of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) and drags on the roadway. The driver may hear a dragging noise from beneath the vehicle, but there will be no driver information center/cluster warning messages.
Correction Dealers are to re-seat the propeller shaft to the PTU and rear differential carrier assembly.

Condition Certain 2018 model year Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles equipped with a 1.6L diesel engine (RPO LH7), may have been built with an improper alignment of the clamp/gasket assembly connecting the turbocharger to the catalytic converter. This condition may cause a diesel exhaust leak and/or smoke from the underhood area of the vehicle. In addition, a check engine indicator may set with diagnostic trouble code P0421.
Correction Dealers are to inspect and replace the turbocharger to catalytic converter clamp/gasket as necessary.
